HydroPlanter Flex is an integrated, shape-adaptive rain garden system for sites where a conventional rectangular module does not fit the available layout. It brings together liner, drainage aggregate, bioretention soil, pipework and an exceedance chamber within a coordinated design. The system can follow irregular spaces while maintaining defined attenuation, treatment, outlet and maintenance functions.
Flex is useful where the rain garden needs to respond to curves, changing widths, existing utilities, street geometry or a bespoke landscape design. A standard HydroPlanter may be more efficient where repeatable modules fit the site, while MAX is intended where higher storage is the main requirement. The choice should reflect layout, hydraulic performance, constructability and maintenance rather than appearance alone.
Yes. It can be configured as an infiltration or non-infiltration system. Where infiltration is unsuitable because of ground conditions, contamination, groundwater, foundations or other constraints, an impermeable liner and controlled drainage route can be included. Infiltration should only be adopted where testing and the drainage strategy confirm it is appropriate; the system still requires an overflow and exceedance approach.
