Helping Contractors Deliver Projects with Confidence

Contractors are increasingly expected to balance programme pressures, commercial targets and complex project requirements. GreenBlue Urban provides practical solutions supported by technical expertise to help reduce uncertainty and support successful project outcomes.

GreenBlue Urban supports contractors with robust systems, technical guidance and coordinated approaches designed to help projects remain compliant, buildable and commercially viable.

  • Confidence in specification compliance
  • Coordinated approaches for complex projects
  • Technical support throughout project delivery
  • Reduced exposure to remedial works

FAQ's

Construction should follow the approved layout, levels, pavement build-up, soil and product installation guidance. The sub-base and structural components must be prepared and assembled correctly, utilities coordinated, soil placed without damaging its structure, and irrigation, drainage, anchoring and surface interfaces installed in sequence. Hold points and inspections are useful before key elements are covered, because many defects are difficult to correct once paving is complete. You can find install guides to all our products here.

Common issues include incorrect formation levels, gaps or incomplete connections in structural systems, unsuitable or over-compacted soil, unapproved component changes, blocked irrigation or drainage, poorly coordinated utilities and missing edge support. Damage can also occur when completed areas are trafficked too early. Using current drawings, installation guides and agreed quality checks reduces the risk that the constructed pit differs from the design intent.

A substitution can be proposed, but equivalence should be demonstrated rather than assumed. Compare usable soil volume, structural performance, connectivity, depth, utilities, drainage, installation, evidence and warranty or adoption requirements. The designer and other approving parties should review the change before procurement or installation. A like-for-like description based only on external size or unit price may overlook functions that affect the complete tree-pit system.

Read our checklist before considering an alternative to make sure you're compliant.

The resource centre includes installation guides, CAD drawings, datasheets and product guides. Contractors should confirm they are using the latest document for the exact product and configuration being installed. Project-specific drawings and specifications take precedence over generic examples where they have been formally approved. Any inconsistency between documents should be raised before construction rather than interpreted on site.
